Detectives are searching for a gang responsible for the stabbing and murder of a barber during a robbery in the Kaptembwo area of Nakuru Town. The gang appeared to be familiar with the victim and targeted him for money stored on his mobile phone, according to his family and the police.

Yusuf Chacha succumbed to his injuries on Monday after being stabbed during an attack in the London area on July 22. His wife reported that she was awakened by a knock on the door and, upon opening it, was confronted by an unknown man accompanied by her husband’s friend, identified only as Peter.

The intruder, armed with a knife, demanded the security unlock pattern for Chacha’s phone. When she could not provide it, the man threatened to harm her daughter, holding the knife to her neck.

In the ensuing struggle, the men fled when the woman screamed for help. Shortly afterward, another acquaintance informed her that Chacha had been taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Police are still investigating the motive and have yet to make any arrests. The body is at the mortuary awaiting an autopsy and further investigation.
