Old Man Found Dead In His Farm In Siaya

Police in Ugenya, Siaya County have launched investigations into the mysterious death of a 35-year-old man whose body was found in a trench at Nyanyien village on Tuesday evening.

The body of the man who was found in the trench in his swampy garden and is suspected to have drowned.

According to Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo, it was reported by the Assistant Chief of Nyamsenda sub-location Michael Nyadenge that there was a suspected drowning incident in his area.

He stated that an officer from the Sihayi police post visited the scene and found the body already retrieved from the trench.

The county police boss added that it was established that the deceased who is epileptic had gone to the garden to tend to his arrow roots around 9 am on Tuesday but never returned, prompting his mother to mount a search.

She found his body in the swampy garden at around 6.00 pm.
