Africa 100m record holder Ferdinand Omanyala headlines Kenya’s team for the World Indoor Championships slated for March 1-3 in Glasgow, Scotland.
Omanyala recently smashed the national 60m indoor national record at the Miramas indoor meet last weekend after clocking 6.52 seconds and will be the only Kenyan in the 60m race.
World under-20 1500m champion Reynold Kipkorir and former world junior champion Vincent Keter will compete in the men’s 1500m race.
World indoor 800m silver medallist Noah Kibet will be hoping to scale to gold this time round over the distance where he will be joined by Collins Kipruto. Vivian Chebet will compete in the women’s race.
The 2021 world under-20 3000m champion Teresiah Muthoni will fly the Kenyan flag in the women’s 3000m race.
The quartet of Boniface Mweresa, Zablon Ekwam, Kelvin Tauta and Wiseman Were forms the men’s 4x400m relay team.
The team is scheduled to depart for Glasgow on February 28.
