Police officers in Molo have arrested a key person of interest in connection with a robbery with violence incident in which two men, disguised in police jungle jackets, stormed a petrol station and terrorised staff during a night raid.
In a statement on Monday, December 29, 2025, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) revealed that the arrest followed a report of an ongoing robbery at a Total Petrol Station.
The attackers, who were armed with crude weapons, assaulted the pump attendant and a night watchman, tied them up with ropes, and ransacked the premises.
Further, the persons of interest fled the scene with cash, mobile phones, and other personal valuables. Officers launched an immediate manhunt for the duo, who disappeared into the darkness.

The operation led to the arrest of one suspect, identified as 55-year-old Joseph Daudi Bulinga.
“A search conducted on the suspect saw officers recover a claw bar, a police smoke jacket, and a tear gas canister,” read the statement in part.
Bulinga is currently being held in police custody as officers process him for arraignment in court.
Meanwhile, a hot pursuit is ongoing to track down and arrest his accomplice, who remains at large.
