One person was confirmed dead while six others were still missing on Sunday evening after a boat capsized in Lake Baringo, Baringo County.
Baringo County Police Commander Julius Kiragu said the boat was overloaded with faithful of a local church when the accident occurred.
The churchgoers were headed to Kokwa Island, the police boss said.
Baringo deputy governor Felix Maiyo called for caution when using boats.
