One person was shot dead in Kisumu as anti-government protests called by the opposition entered the second day on Monday.

The deceased was killed in the chaotic scenes witnessed in the lakeside city as anti-riot police officers engaged in running battles with the crowd.

In the scuffle, police ended up using teargas to disperse them after the protesters began pelting stones at the officers.

The deceased’s body was moved to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral hospital. Mortuary.
