Siaya Governor James Orengo has appointed former nominated MP Prof. Jacqueline Adhiambo Oduol for a position of a County Executive Committee (CEC) member.
Orengo has appointed the former MP in the post of the County Executive Committee member for Water, Sanitation, Environment, Climate change and Natural resources.
Prof. Oduol’s name is among those in the list of nominees that the governor submitted to the County Assembly for consideration to various county executive positions.
If approved by the County Assembly, Prof. Oduol will take charge of the water docket which has been vacant after Dr. Julie Onyango who held the docket was impeached by the County Assembly over alleged misconduct.
Others who are in governor Orengo’s list of nominees to positions of Chief Officers include Jacktone Odinga (Budget and planning), Ajuul Okoth Kevin (Energy and Transport), Samuel Omondi Owino (Health), Judith Oyugi (Water and Sanitation) and Adongo Elizabeth Atieno (Agriculture).
Other nominees to the positions of Chief Officers include Oliech Michael Ombambo (Enterprise and Industrial development) and finally Dr, Nicholas Kut Ochogo (Youth, gender and social services).
The appointments shall be deliberated upon by the county assembly and those approved will then be forwarded to the Governor for confirmation to begin their work formally.
