Kenya power has announced that the scheduled upgrade of the prepaid token vending system was successfully completed.
The company said the upgrade was completed Monday 10 pm and prepaid customers can now buy electricity tokens.

“Our prepaid customers can now buy their electricity tokens via all payment channels including M-PESA Paybill number 888880, Airtel Money and banking channels,” the company said.

The utility firm expressed its appreciation to all its customers for their patience and understanding during the interruption.
“We assure Kenyans that we are committed to continuously improving our services to better their needs.”

KPLC had previously in a statement notified the public of the unavailability of the prepaid token vending service on Sunday and Monday (June 2 and 3, 2024).
It added that this would be occasioned by a system upgrade that was scheduled to take place during the period.

“We wish to advise our pre-paid customers to buy enough tokens before then to avoid any inconvenience,” the statement read.
Kenya Power said the service outage will be on all vending points.

“During this period, customers will not be able to buy electricity tokens from all vending points including Kenya Power offices, M-PESA Paybill number 888880, Airtel Money and banking channels,” it said.
