England forward Cole Palmer has signed a two-year contract extension with Chelsea, as announced by the Premier League club on Tuesday. The 22-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Manchester City in a £42.5 million ($54.7 million, €49.7 million) deal last September, is now committed to the London club until June 2033.

“I’m thrilled to sign this new deal,” Cole stated on Chelsea’s official website. “I accomplished a lot in my first season here, and I hope to continue experiencing great moments at this club, both personally and in terms of achieving success and trophies for Chelsea.”

Palmer had an impressive campaign last season, scoring 22 goals in the Premier League, and was part of the England squad that reached the Euro 2024 final, where he scored an equalizer after coming off the bench in a loss to Spain.

He was also named the Premier League’s young player of the year, with his goal tally featuring league hat-tricks in consecutive games at Stamford Bridge against Manchester United and Everton.

Chelsea, who finished sixth in the table last season, will kick off the new Premier League campaign at home against champions Manchester City on Sunday.
