A section of the anti-Finance Bill 2023 protesters have been arrested as they were marching within the Nairobi CBD.
They had begun their march at Jeevanjeee Gardens and were headed to Parliament buildings
In a video seen by K24 Digital, the protesters who were carrying placards as they chanted ‘ Down!Down! Finance Bill!’ could be seen arguing with some officers bundling up a section of the protesters in their police cars.
“I am a Kenyan citizen and I have a right,” one protester could be heard.
Some protesters engaged in running battles with the officers as they were heading to parliament buildings.

The controversial Finance Bill 2023 has taken centre stage of debate across social and mainstream media.
Quarters have expressed their strong disagreement with the aforementioned Bill which points out a raft of changes that may affect the country’s economy.
Notable leaders such as Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition supremo Raila Odinga have vehemently opposed the aforementioned bill set to be tabled in parliament on Thursday, June 15, 2023.
Some of the proposals in the controversial Bill are 16 per cent VAT on fuel and 3 per cent housing levy.
