Police have arrested the main suspect connected to the death of a woman whose body was discovered at her parents’ house in Ruiru, Kiambu county.

The arrest of Christopher Kiptum Keter, a pastor, was made after CCTV footage revealed that he was in the company of the deceased on the day she went missing.

Mobile communication records corroborated that the two had been together before she was found dead.

Police say the suspect was caught at Embakasi’s Mukuru Kwa Njenga slums where he had gone into hiding.

Prior to her untimely death, the deceased, Christine Makena Maingi is said to have gone missing on February 5 and February 6, 2023.

The body of the deceased who was running a Curio Travels in Nairobi was discovered at her parents’ house on February 8, 2023. Her parents stay in Dubai and Meru.

Initial reports had concluded that the deceased had committed suicide, however, after a thorough probe and an autopsy, police discovered that she had been strangled to death.

The suspect told police he was a prayer partner of the deceased and that the two had known each other for a while.
