Police have blocked City Hall Way as Kenyans prepare to storm the streets of Nairobi’s Central Business District to protest the Finance Bill 2024.

Pictures shared  show a heavy contingent of police officers setting up a roadblock on the road section.

Vehicles seeking access undergo inspections before being allowed to pass.

Police officers have also been deployed in various parts of Nairobi, including around Parliament.

The protests, dubbed “Occupy Parliament,” aim to pressure MPs to reject the Finance Bill 2024, which some Kenyans have described as “punitive.”
