Police in Homa Bay county have launched a manhunt for a retired primary school teacher accused of sodomising an orphaned boy in Karachuonyo.

While confirming the incident, Rachuonyo North sub-county police commander Lydia Parteiyie stated that the suspect currently on the run sodomised the seven-year-old boy at his house.

The police boss stated that she received a report indicating that the suspect had been sodomising the minor since last year, she, however, noted that the suspect fled to an unknown destination after learning that the matter had been reported to the police.

“The boy was taken to a health facility where medics confirmed that he had been sodomised. The suspect ran away after he realised the incident had been reported to us. We are looking for him to ensure legal action is taken against him,” Parteiyie added.

Area chief Margaret Ager stated that the teacher would lure the young boy to his house with sweets or Ksh10.

Ager who noted that the incident was first reported to her office, stated that the boy’s mother fronted the issue to her after discovering that the boy was in pain.

Upon asking, the Grade 3 pupil confirmed that he had been sodomised three times.

“The boy’s mother reported the matter in my office after realizing that the boy had some pain in his anus. The boy told his mother that he was being sodomised him three times,” Ager stated.

The administrator said the minor was rushed to a medical facility where he was being treated after confirmation that he was sodomised by the suspect.

Following the unfortunate incident, Police commander Parteiyie asked parents to be vigilant and monitor their children’s whereabouts to prevent such cases.
