Police are investigating two separate suicide incidents reported in Makueni and Nyandarua counties.

In Makueni County, the body of 40-year-old Monica Mbula Kiamuko was discovered hanging from a tree in Wote area. Kiamuko, a resident of Kambu, reportedly committed suicide by tying a leso around her neck and hanging herself from a tree near Royal Star Hospital. No suicide note was found, and her body has been taken to the mortuary for a postmortem examination.

In Ngorika, Nyandarua County, 23-year-old Francis Maina Waweru was found dead by suicide. Waweru, a resident of Githima village, hanged himself using a rope attached to one of the roof rafters in his house. No suicide note was found, and his body, which had no visible injuries, was moved to JM Kariuki Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

The rise in suicide cases continues to prompt calls for action to address the issue.
