A passenger was found dead at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) waiting lounge.

The deceased who was heading to Mombasa had checked in at the JKIA lounge ready for his flight. His body was discovered after the Jambo Jet Airlines staff discovered that he had not boarded the plane.

At the time, the staff says his name had been called severally but he was non-responsive prompting them to confirm.

The staff found him lying motionless with his travelling bags and called for the airline paramedics who later confirmed that he had passed away.

His body was moved to a nearby mortuary pending postmortem to determine his cause of death.

Meanwhile, police assured the airline that investigations were ongoing to determine the cause of his death.

“A probe into the incident is ongoing,” police stated.

The latest comes barely months after a passenger died while boarding a KQ flight to Mombasa from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

The deceased had developed breathing difficulties moments before he boarded the plane.

“The passenger was pronounced dead by medical personnel at JKIA while the aircraft was still on the ground.
