Police in Emgwen, Nandi County have launched investigations into the death of a 53-year-old woman.

According to a police report, Rose Ng’asura succumbed to stab injuries in her breast and chest.

“We received the information about the incident and we are told the woman was sleeping in her kitchen with one of her daughters.

“Shortly, the woman screamed for help after feeling injured. The daughter, who was with her, screamed for help and their father who was in a different house came to rescue her rescue,” a police officer said.

The officer said the weapon used to kill her had not been recovered.

“The house is locked using a curved nail inside and we are still looking for an object which was used to stab the woman. The family members have recorded statements so far,” he added.
