Eight members of a notorious machete-wielding gang that has been terrorizing residents of Bamburi, Mombasa have been arrested.

The arrests were made in Kijipwa, Kilifi County, following an ambush in the Bombo area of Kisauni. The suspects have been linked to a series of violent attacks in Bamburi, including a recent incident where a victim lost his hand.

The police recovered pangas, mobile phones, and other stolen items from the scene.

“Sisi kama wananchi tungepatiwa nafasi, hawa majamaa tungemalizana nao, hatujasherehekea mwaka mpya tunaingia kwa nyumba kama kuku,” a Bamburi resident stated.

“Hawa vijana wamekuwa wanatusumbua sana mbona shule zikifungwa ndio kuna ukora , which means wanafunzi wa shule ndio wanafanya ukora hapa kiembeni.”
