Police in Isebania, Migori County have seized 160 kilograms of bhang with an estimated  street value of Ksh.4.8 million.

The bhang, stashed in four sacks, was confiscated on Friday following an operation led by Isebania police OCS Meshack Mulwa along the Kenya-Tanzania border.

Confirming the incident, Migori County Police Commander Francis Nguli told Citizen Digital that the bhang, intercepted around Mali Ngumu area, was being ferried aboard a motorcycle whose rider escaped after noticing that police were pursuing him.

A manhunt for the suspect is currently underway according to Nguli, who further asserted that police in the area will not falter in their ongoing war against drug trafficking.

Isebania police officers likewise seized ten sacks of jaggery, with an estimated value of Ksh.140,000, that was being smuggled into Kenya.

One person has been arrested in connection to the incident. He is expected to be arraigned on Monday.
