Detectives have narrowed down on at least two suspects believed to have been involved in the murder of the Nairobi Hospital finance director Erick Maigo.

Maigo, 36, was Friday morning found murdered in his house at Woodley estate, in Nairobi county at around 6am.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers have reviewed a CCTV footage which has revealed the deceased’s last moments and data from his phone.

The Chief Government pathologist who conducted the autopsy on Saturday also said they had collected some samples from the deceased which will help reveal the identity of the attackers who he said came into contact with the deceased.
Rupturing organs

According to Dr Oduor, Maigo had 25 stab wounds, some rupturing vital organs, causing his death.
Dr Oduor, who conducted the post-mortem at the Lee Funeral Home, said: “We calculated and found he had 25 stab wounds. This caused both external and internal bleeding.”

He however said there were no defence injuries, an indication that he was fast asleep, too drunk, or had been drugged.

Police said nothing had been stolen from the house.

The main suspect, a female companion, was captured on camera getting into the house with the deceased.

Neighbours at the Woodley Annex apartment said they heard Maigo groaning in pain and they decided to go to his house.
