The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has suffered a blow in its bid to revoke the nomination of Kisumu County Assembly Member (MCA) Regina Kizito after the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPTD) ruled that the process to kick her out was illegal.

PPDT Presiding Judge Willy Mutubwa in his ruling has nullified the ODM party decision to suspend Ms. Kizito from the party.

Justice Mutubwa also ruled that the decision of the County Assembly of Kisumu to suspend her from House sittings was illegal and unconstitutional.

MCA Kizito, who represents the youth in the Assembly, welcomed the tribunal decision saying justice had been done at last, adding that she will continue to focus on her role of spearheading the youth agenda in the House.

Kizoto was among four nominated MCAs suspended from all functions of the Kisumu County Assembly following a communication from the ODM party after the National Executive Council (NEC) resolved to expel them.

The others were; Carolyne Opar, Kennedy Ajwang, and Peter Obaso.
