President William Ruto has launched his anti-graft campaign against the enduring threat of corruption that continues to face the nation on all levels of government.

The Head of State issued a warning to corrupt leaders to change their ways saying he is committed to fulfilling his promises to Kenyans and the pledges shall not be derailed by such individuals.

This he said while speaking at the laying of the foundation stone for the Anglican Church Grand Cathedral in Kiambu Town.

“I want to tell those corrupt people it is either they change or leave the country because we will not allow that,” he said.

Ruto warned that his administration will no longer tolerate individuals who misuse the taxpayers’ money and their positions.

“I was given the sword, the constitution and even the anointing. This sword is to slash those corrupt individuals. I will not spare them,” he said.

“Let everyone pay their taxes, and when you do, please question me, because you are the ones who have asked.”

This follows his recent move on his cabinet urging the CSs to strive to fulfil their mandate and diligently serve Kenyans. He also asked them to sign performance contracts in the State House on August 1, 2023.

Ruto vowed to end the cycles of unfulfilled pledges and tame the history of leaders engaging in graft.

“I have had a heart-to-heart discussion with my cabinet I want to do the same with the rest of government bureaucracy from PSs on to directors. It will not be business as usual. I made a commitment to the people of Kenya that there will be no money to steal. There is only money to deliver on the projects and aspirations of Kenyans,” he said.

“We cannot afford to see where this road will lead because it has already brought us to a very terrible place. It is time to end this once and for all and I promise you it will come to an end.”
