President Ruto’s evolving fashion choices have continued to attract attention online.

Ruto found himself at the center of a Twitter fashion frenzy after stepping out in footwear reminiscent of those previously donned by Sports CS Ababu Namwamba and influencer Azziad Nasenya.

On Sunday, 3 September, the head of state made a striking fashion statement as he attended the closing ceremony of the Youth Africa Climate Change Summit at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi.

Sporting a daring and youthful look, he opted for the trendy “Run Star Hike Converse” sneakers, immediately becoming his ensemble’s focal point.

As the President stepped out from a compact electric car, the chunky platform sneakers grabbed the attention of onlookers.

President Ruto paired the statement sneakers with white pants, a beige polo shirt, and a stylish cream-coloured cap to complete the look.

The daring fashion choice showcased his evolving style, breaking from the conventional suits and ties often associated with political figures.

The “Run Star Hike Converse” sneakers, featured on the official Converse website, come with a price tag of approximately $110 (equivalent to around Ksh 15,000).

TikToker Azziad Nasenya, had previously sported the same stylish sneakers during her visit to a skyscraper in Dubai.

Sports CS Ababu Namwamba also embraced this fashion-forward footwear, sharing numerous photos of himself wearing the same sneakers in his office.

Paired with dark trousers and a chic white jacket, Namwamba’s style choice resonated with fashion-conscious individuals.

President Ruto’s recent foray into bold fashion decisions follows sightings of him wearing expensive Salvatore Ferragamo loafers during a trip to Kampala, Uganda.

Additionally, the President showcased his penchant for luxury timepieces, adorning the exquisite A Lange 1 Moon Phase watch during the same journey.

The price range for this prestigious timepiece varies from Ksh 5 million ($36,000) to Ksh 12 million ($88,500), depending on specific features and specifications.
