Police in Homa Bay County have launched investigations into an incident where a gang of four men attacked and raped the wife of a village elder in Kanyango.
The men invaded the village elder’s home on Monday night and violated the 25-year-old woman. The village elder was not home at the time.
It is reported that the woman was sleeping with her 2-year-old daughter when the men broke into the house past midnight and committed the act.
According to the assistant chief of Kanyango Location Samuel Nyagwara, the four demanded to know the whereabouts of the village elder.
After the incident, Mr Nyagwara said they threatened to kill the woman should she attempt to raise an alarm.
They made away with her mobile phone and a total of Ksh.17,000.
