Human Rights activists on Monday chained themselves on the grills of the Milimani Law Courts wall.

Singing anti-taxation chants, the human rights defenders who were dressed in sacks opposed the Finance Act 2023.

“No Finance law! Down with over-taxation!” the protesters sang, decrying the high cost of living.

Their protest happened just minutes before a High Court ruling on the Finance Act petition.

The court session has since ended, where Lady Justice Mugure Thande declined to lift the suspension of the Finance Act.
