The Kisumu County government is counting losses after goons invaded and vandalized the newly launched multimillion ultra-modern funeral home at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital.

The attack on the mortuary which was opened on Tuesday this week occurred on Thursday during the opposition Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party protests.

Governor Anyang Nyong’o has since condemned the attack saying the goons posing as protesters damaged and looted expensive mortuary equipment.

He said the gang carted away computers and other valuable equipment.

The Governor consequently wondered why the police did not protect the facility from looters and urged them to hunt and bring the suspects to book.
