On Friday, Mama Rachel Ruto welcomed Grace Adesina at State House in Nairobi. Grace Adesina is the spouse of Akinwumi Adesina, the President of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB).

She is currently in the country accompanying her husband for the annual 2024 meeting.

Earlier in the week, Kenya hosted the annual AfDB meeting, which brought together various delegates, including heads of state.

The theme of this year’s meeting was ‘Africa’s Transformation: the African Development Bank and the Reform of Global Financial Architecture.’ This theme reflects the recognition that despite sustained economic growth over the past two decades, Africa’s economic development remains ongoing, with significant work still required.
