Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga on Monday afternoon emerged at Nairobi’s Kawangware area to kick off the second anti-government protests.

Odinga was flanked by co-principal Martha Karua, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah, among other opposition leaders.

Minutes into the demonstration as Odinga’s convoy snaked through the settlement area, police lobbed tear gas at protesters who were carrying twigs, placards, utensils and some foodstuffs to demonstrate the high cost of living.
