Rapcha the Sayantist has called out celebrities secretly supporting President William Ruto amid growing opposition from those keen on sending the President home in the 2027 elections.
In a statement on his X account on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the content creator noted that celebrities backing the president’s reelection have developed a habit of lecturing others on democracy.
According to him, this is the cover that they use to defend their choice, as they are unable to explain anything that the incumbent has accomplished to earn their support.

“Celebrities” who are secretly supporting Ruto are always lecturing us about democracy and freedom of choice,” he stated.
Rapcha hints at means used to secure support
Hinting at the possibility that other means may have been used by the President to bag their support, Rapcha noted that people are old enough to analyse empty rhetoric and arrive at a conclusion.
We know what democracy is, and we also know what leadership is. If you can’t explain everything Ruto has done for Kenya that has influenced your decision… then we are old enough to know why you support him,” he added.
His stand mirrors that of rapper Henry Ohanga, popularly known as Octopizzo, who called out celebrities hiding behind their brands at a time when they should add their voices to compelling conversations on the challenges facing Kenyans on whose backs their fame is built.
“Public figures can’t keep hiding behind their brands while the country erodes. Bad governance touches everything & everyone, the cost of living, opportunity, dignity, and even the future of children not yet born,” Octopizzo stated on Monday, February 24, 2026.
Pressure piles on celebrities
According to the rapper, any public figure choosing to look cool by not speaking is supporting the political elite and will see the next generation inherit the challenges that the present generation is facing, as the political elite are unlikely to do anything without pressure and loud voices of everyone impacted.

“Silence isn’t neutrality; it’s compliance. If we keep choosing to look “cool” instead of standing firm, our children will inherit the same battles we claim to be fighting today. Real change yields in consistency!” Octopizzo added.
Pressure has been mounting on public figures and celebrities to take their stand, with those opposed to Ruto’s second-term bid urging those sitting in the fence to join the conversation.
