Rapper Lil Durk hit with new charge of stalking resulting in de@th

Chicago rapper Lil Durk is facing a serious escalation in his ongoing legal battle, as prosecutors have introduced a new charge accusing him of stalking that allegedly resulted in the death of a victim. The updated charge, filed on May 1, marks a significant development in a case that has already seen multiple turns since the artist was first detained.

According to newly obtained court documents, prosecutors now allege that Durk’s actions constituted “stalking resulting in de@th,” in connection with the 2022 killing of Saviay’a Robinson, a cousin of fellow rapper Quando Rondo. While prosecutors stressed that Durk’s music career is not under scrutiny, they argued he poses a flight risk due to the gravity of the accusations.

Lil Durk has been in custody since October 2023, and the complexity of the case continues to grow with each round of legal filings. The latest charge suggests prosecutors believe there is a direct link between Durk’s behavior and Robinson’s death, intensifying the stakes for the artist’s defense team.

In a small legal victory, however, the revised indictment removed an earlier reference to Durk’s rap lyrics, which prosecutors had previously claimed alluded to the murder. His legal team had strongly objected to the inclusion of the lyrics, arguing it was an unfair attempt to criminalize artistic expression.

As the case unfolds, it remains to be seen how the new charge will impact Durk’s prospects for release or trial strategy.
