Leaders in the Kenya Kwanza government have rallied the Maasai community in Kajiado to reject former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s opposition politics, accusing him of peddling untruths.
The leaders allied to President William Ruto have dismissed Gachagua’s recent visit to Kajiado, claiming he brought no real solutions- only rhetoric meant to turn locals against a government they say is delivering for the people.
Led by National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, the leaders also took a swipe at local leaders allied to the former DP, accusing them of misleading the community for selfish political gain.
“Walisema ya Ruto, Ruto siyo agenda ya wananchi wa Kajiado. Wanafaa kuwaambia kuhusu manifesto yao, sio kupaka wengine matope,” he said.
Kajiado Central MP Memusi Kanchory added, “Mnapenda wanasiasa wakiwachekesha, lakini nyinyi ndio mnachagua wale watu wanapenda kuwadhalimu.”
Kajiado Woman Rep Leah Sankaire on her part said, “Leo kikundi yako ikifaidika, jua mkono wa rais uko hapo ndani.”
They made the remarks during an event hosted by Kajiado Woman Representative Leah Sankaire at Kajiado TTI, which brought together women, youth, and persons with disabilities under the NGAAF empowerment program.
