Residents In Kisii Light Candles In Honor To Police Brutality Victims

Residents in Kisii moved to the streets and lit candles to mourn victims who were killed by police during the anti-government protests which was called by Azimio leader Raila Odinga.

The residents lit candles in the streets of Kisii town in solidarity of victims of police brutality whereby at least 50 people were shot dead.

In Kisii at least three people were killed by the bullet during the protests and several were left with injuries.

Samuel Ongeri, a resident, said they had to Obey Odinga’s call to light candles and stand in solidarity with the victims and act as a symbol of honoring them for coming out during the protests.

“We posed the protests to mourn and stand with our foot soldiers who were killed by the bullet during the last protests,” said Ongeri.

Ongeri Said they came out to express their disappointment of being overwhelmed by the high cost of living and they will continue coming to the streets till the president makes things better.

Zippo Orina said those killed in Kisii were not even protesting, for instance one lady was shot in her shop.

Orina said Raila Ondinga and president Ruto should sit down and have a conversation in reviving the country.
