REVEALED: List of popular English teams on social media

Manchester United tops the list of the most popular English Premier League clubs on social media, according to research by Nieuwe-Casinos.

The research was arrived at following analysis on the follower counts of each football team in the competition to determine the with the most fans.

The data was obtained from various social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter).

Manchester United ranks top of the list, with a total of 207,583,227 followers across the team’s social media platforms.

Facebook is the team’s most popular social media platform, with over 82,000,000 followers, while the team’s second most influential platform is Instagram, which has a total of 63,373,852 followers.

Ranking second on the list is Manchester City – the study reveals that the team has a total follower count of 140,821,395.

Instagram is Manchester City’s most popular social media platform, with over 51,000,000 followers; the team also has over 23,000,000 followers on TikTok and has a Facebook following of 49,000,000 fans.

Chelsea places third on the list, with a total of 136,557,418 followers.

The study found that the team has over 54,000,000 Facebook followers and 41,676,129 Instagram followers.

Placing fourth on the list is Liverpool, with a total of 132,634,015 followers across its social media platforms. The study discovered that Facebook is the team’s most influential account, with over 46,000,000 followers. Liverpool’s Instagram also has a large following, amassing 44,424,346 fans.

Arsenal is fifth on the list, with a total of 99,613,481 fans. Facebook is the team’s most followed platform, with over 42,000,000 followers. As well as this, Arsenal has a total Instagram following of 28,773,205 and an X following of 22,240,276 fans.

Tottenham Hotspur places sixth on the list, with a total of 93,752,310 followers across the team’s social media accounts. The study reveals that Tottenham is the Premier League team with the highest amount of TikTok followers, with over 34,000,000. The team also has 34,000,000 Facebook followers and an Instagram following of 16,880,261.

Ranking seventh on the list is West Ham United, with 17,040,213 fans. The research found that TikTok is the team’s most influential platform, with over 5,800,000 followers. Additionally, West Ham United has a following of 4,100,000 fans on Facebook and an Instagram following of 4,419,586.

Aston Villa is eighth on the list, with a total of 15,335,600 fans. The team has over 5,600,000 Facebook followers as well as 3,843,350 Instagram followers.

Everton places ninth on the list, with 13,061,717 followers across the team’s social media platforms. Facebook is Everton’s most popular account, with over 4,600,000 followers; they also have 3,109,847 Instagram followers and 3,051,870 followers on X.

Newcastle United is tenth on the list, with a total of 13,000,779 fans. Facebook is Newcastle United’s most followed social media platform, with over 4,200,000 followers. The team also has over 3,300,000 followers on TikTok and 2,751,164 followers on X.

Interestingly, the study found that Luton Town has the lowest number of fans on social media, totalling 1,535,159 followers, perhaps due to the fact that they were only recently promoted to the Premier League for the first time this season.

A spokesperson from Nieuwe-Casinos.net commented on the study: “Football is a sport that brings so many people together, which is why the Premier League is one of the most watched sporting leagues in the world.
