Rigathi Gachagua Celebrates Wife Dorcas on Birthday, Promises Her Big Bash in 2027

‎Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has stirred up social media with a deeply personal birthday tribute to his wife Dorcas, one that carried unmistakable political undertones about his plans for 2027.

Writing on Facebook on Monday, October 19, Gachagua called Dorcas his “gal” and opened the message by recalling the pain the couple shared on her birthday two years ago, shortly after his dramatic impeachment from the deputy presidency.

‎How Gachagua celebrated Dorcas’ birthday

‎”Two years ago, on a day like today, we celebrated your birthday in shock, having been humiliated and disgraced by a man we had sacrificed everything to make king,” he wrote, in what appeared to be a direct swipe at President William Ruto.

‎The message quickly shifted from reflection to ambition. Gachagua assured Dorcas that by her next birthday, the family’s circumstances would look very different, promising to throw her “the biggest birthday celebration bash ever at the most coveted address in the country.”

The phrase, widely understood to be a reference to State House, read as a clear signal of his intentions ahead of the 2027 General Election.

‎He added that the couple is preparing to “travel back home and engage the final gear in the liberation of our country,” framing their personal journey as intertwined with a broader political mission.

Gachagua closed the tribute by invoking their long marriage.

‎”In our 37 years of marriage, I have made you many promises and kept most of them. This is one promise I SHALL honour and MUST honour,” he wrote.

‎Kenyans react to Gachagua’s post

The post drew a wave of responses from Kenyans who were charmed by Gachagua’s romantic side, while others picked up on the political message layered beneath the birthday wishes.

Njogu Mbau wrote:

‎”Thank You, Riggy-G, for redeeming our image. Molima sons have always been accused of being unromantic. Umetupigania hapo. Mama Boys, Happy birthday. Ahsante for taking care of Gitungati-001.”

Esther Man’gee admitted:

‎”From the word my gal I thought of his daughter. Ushamba itaniua.”

‎Itz Purie noted:

“Eish this man loves his wife, what a name, My gal.”

Nyawira Eva joined in the celebration, writing:

‎”Who said murima men are not romantic? Happy birthday mama boys.”

Meshack Wanjala added a note of caution alongside his birthday wishes:

“Happy birthday Doro. Lakini nchungane na Kasongo. He is so angry.”

‎Maruruithesecond King simply observed:

“She looks like a first lady.”

Dorcas has remained a visible and supportive presence throughout her husband’s political career, including the turbulent period surrounding his impeachment in 2023. If Gachagua does make a run for the presidency in 2027, it appears she will be right beside him every step of the way.
