‘Honest men’ Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has been for a while now keeping up with his health as he prepares to clock 60 years of age. Both locally and abroad, the outspoken politician has often been photographed taking early morning walks, sometimes in the company of his wife.

On his latest foray into the dewy morning, Riggy G, as his followers fondly refer to him, walked through Hombe Forest in Mathira Constituency, Nyeri County.

Tanzanian crises! No dollars, sugar and electricity

“Hombe Forest is full of mighty trees facing the majestic Mt Kenya. This morning, mist and fog rested peacefully and beautifully, on the rugged canopies of the rough skyline. My early morning walk today through Hombe, which is part of Mt Kenya Forest, was inspiringly marked by a choir of birds of varied species- reflecting the intact biodiversity of this ecosystem.
In my interaction with neighbors, who also border the forest, was an opportunity to discuss the importance of securing such a serene nature for an assured future. It is our responsibility. It was also an opportune moment to check on the progress of my Dairy and Poultry farming,” said Riggy G.
However, it was not his health pursuits that attracted the attention of Kenyans. It was his tracksuit brand name which elicited mixed reactions. Donning mismatched grey pants and a hoodie, his track pants had the phrase ‘Nyamba’ sewed up and down the side of his pants. Nyamba is a swahili word meaning ‘to fart.’
“Which clothing label is this? Kenyan firms taking big brands by storm,” commented former Thika Town MP aspirant Francis Gaitho.

“You are so idle .. lakini yenyewe Naibu naye amevaa nini shuali (but then what is the Deputy wearing surely?)😂😂😂😂😂,” replied Rono Meshack.

“It suits him for sure,” opined Moses Keya.

“🤣😂🤣 You really can’t make this stuff up..” laughed Irgun.

“🤣🤣🤣You want Gachagua to wear Gucci and Louis (Vuitton)?” asked Edd.

“Riggy G is a real don’t care,” added Vincent .J.

Additionally, many others called out DP Gachagua for only going on health walks in his home area as opposed to other regions in the country.

“H.E. Rigathi Gachagua, EGH I want to see you having the morning walk in the northern parts of Kenya and parts of Lamu county freely not only in your home area,” said Norman Mutua.

“Your excellency. You are the deputy of the whole Kenya. We want to see you also walking and admiring forests in Garrissa,” added Bennet.
