Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly (MCA) Robert Alai has claimed that Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja is cornered and needs to be removed.
“Cooperation agreement signed and sealed, now we can remove him. It’s only fair to Nairobians to remove him,” Alai said.
Sakaja joined President William Ruto at State House on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, where a cooperation agreement was signed to support roads and housing infrastructure, modern waste management systems, improved water and sanitation services, street lighting and public safety.
The blogger said that Sakaja has escaped on five different occasions, but is finally cornered, signalling his strong belief that the governor should be impeached.

He claimed that with the deal sealed, the governor is now cornered, with his exit being the next step.

“Alihepa 5 times to even pick calls. Finally cornered,” he added.
Sakaja joined President William Ruto at State House on Tuesday, February 17, 202,6 where a cooperation agreement was signed to support roads and housing infrastructure, modern waste management systems, improved water and sanitation services, street lighting and public safety.
“Today, I joined the President H.E William Ruto to sign a historical cooperation agreement with the National Government, unlocking Ksh 80 Billion for the city,” he stated.
Sakaja defends the cooperation agreement
The governor defended the agreement, saying that it unlocks billions for the city, adding that it does not in any way weaken devolution or imply that some functions have been transferred.
“The cooperation Agreement does not transfer county functions nor weaken devolution. Instead, in the true spirit of devolution, it is a lawful statutory collaboration expressly anchored on Section 6 of the Urban Areas and Cities Act,” he explained.
The county boss emphasised his commitment to service delivery, with the focus shifting to how the agreement will be implemented and whether its execution will match its stated intentions.

“I remain committed to service delivery, the resolve to build a better city than we found it, and to capture the aspirations of our people,” he added.
