After another big win against Sikh Union last weekend, Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association (NPCA) 50-Overs League leaders Ruaraka A continue their charge towards the title with another match against Nairobi Gymkhana A on Sunday.

The Thika Road-based side go into the Super Division weekend tie buoyed by their dominant run this season in which they have humbled giants, such as Stray Lions, Swamibapa and Kanbis.

They seem to be rampaging train right now with Sanchin Gill a key part of their hot pursuit of the top prize.

His game-winning batting performance against Sikh Union last weekend propelled the side to an eventual nine wicket-win.

Gill is hopeful the team can continue their great run by replicating their performance against the Forest Road-based side.

“Our bowling was great and everyone chipped in with wickets. We tried to chase it down as quickly as we could. Going forward, we need to improve on our net run rate,” he pointed out.

Other matches on the cards include Sikh Union A will be looking to recover from their loss to Ruaraka A with a win against Swamibapa A.

However, it won’t be an easy walk in the park for them, considering that their opponents will be high on confidence after their nine-wicket win over Obuya Academy, last weekend.

The likes of captain Rushab Patel, Vimal Solanki and Krishna Babu will be once again expected to lead Swamis charge for a second successive win.

At Lenana School, Obuya Academy lock horns with Kanbis A.

The hosts will have a battle on their hands to contain their opponents’ brightest stars, such as Dhiren Gondaria — the league’s top run scorer — Rakep Patel, Emmanuel Bundi and Sachin Budhia.

However, Obuya will take solace in the fact that they can always call upon the experience of long-time Kenyan international player Collins Obuya, who has been their best performer thus far.

Kennedy Otieno Obuya, Steve Odhiambo, Steve Biko, Joseph Owino and Protus
Asirigwa are other players who will have to be at their best batting behaviour if Obuya are to come away from this tie victorious.
