Content creator and comedian Mulamwah’s ex-girlfriend, Ruth Njoki Karegi, alias Ruth K, has explained how she lost access to her son’s Instagram and TikTok accounts, following what she describes as unauthorised interference linked to a former associate.
In a statement on Saturday, January 24, 2026, Ruth K clarified that she is no longer working with or affiliated in any way with Ann Walthera, also known as The Bush Tailor, or with any individuals or entities connected to her.
“This statement is issued to formally clarify that I am no longer working with, associated with, or affiliated in any way with Ann Walthera, also known as The Bush Tailor or any individuals, businesses, or entities connected to them,” read the statement in part.
According to Ruth K, her relationship with Ann Walthera began casually through working out together and later developed into a personal friendship.
However, she has stated that the friendship eventually ended on unfavourable terms.
During the course of that friendship, Ruth K revealed that Ann had informed her she had lost her phone and had asked to temporarily use one of Ruth’s devices, explaining that her business relied heavily on phone communication with clients.
Phone Handed Over in Good Faith
Ruth K says she acted in good faith and provided her former friend with an extra phone. However, she admits that the device still had access to her personal email and social media accounts at the time.
The situation escalated when Ruth K realised she could no longer access her son’s Instagram and TikTok accounts.
Further, she has stated that upon attempting to recover the accounts, she learned that both the email address and phone number associated with them had been changed.
“As of yesterday, I was unable to log into my son’s account. Upon attempting recovery. I learned that the email address and phone number associated with the account had been changed, resulting in complete loss of access.”
Moreover, Ruth K revealed that she also discovered the ownership of her iPhone 14, which she says she had helped Ann with, had been changed.
“Yesterday, I also learned that the ownership of my iPhone 14, which I had helped her with, has been changed, meaning I can’t repossess it. On confirmation of the email address, I realised that it is the same email and phone number owned by the lady.”
Ruth K stressed that her statement was issued to formally distance herself from Ann Walthera and any activities connected to her.
She noted that she has no ongoing relationship, collaboration, or involvement with The Bush Tailor or related entities.
