President William Ruto has advocated for the establishment of a School of Leadership at the University of Nairobi, emphasizing its importance in developing specialized skills in climate action, finance, and renewable energy.
During talks with former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon in Seoul, South Korea, Ruto called on the Global Centre on Adoption (GCA), chaired by Ban, to support this initiative.
Ban Ki-Moon, who also presides over the Global Green Growth Institute, discussed the critical role of Africa in climate action and financing with Ruto.
Ruto highlighted the need to bolster Africa’s capacity in various fields of expertise to maintain the continent’s momentum in these areas.
The announcement was made while Ruto attended the South Korea-Africa summit in Seoul, a significant event that follows his participation in the Italy-Africa summit in January. South Korea is the latest developed nation to host an Africa Summit, which brought together numerous African leaders.
