Nakuru County Senator Tabitha Karanja now says that the continued public forums by the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party are derailing the government’s delivery to Kenyans.

Speaking on Citizen TV’s JKLive Show on Wednesday, Senator Karanja said that with the continued rallies, if President William Ruto fails to deliver on his campaign promises come 2027, he may blame it on Azimio’s mass actions.

“We just need to give this government time so that we can deliver. I know because am an employer that If you give somebody an opportunity to give excuses, after two years, President Ruto will say we disturbed him…he will say you called people, rallied them, instead of letting people work,” she said.

“Why don’t you give him time, so that after 5 years, you will ask him…but now, he will have excuses to give us.”

According to the senator, the Kenya Kwanza administration inherited a dilapidated economy from former President Uhuru Kenyatta and they need time to grow and raise funds in order to fulfil their manifesto.

“You know very well that whether it was Raila or Ruto becoming a president, you can’t fix a country in a day. You will need some time… I hear we inherited empty coffers,” she noted.

Nairobi County Woman Representative Esther Passaris who was also on the show had raised concerns that the country is unsettled with President Ruto’s leadership due to the high cost of living and that information gathered from the public consultations showed indications of frustrated Kenyans.

Passaris believes that if Odinga had assumed power, the situation in the country would have been different and Kenyans would not be suffering.

“When Baba goes round, he starts to understand the pinpoints…there was a lot of promises made and when I look at the people, they say, aki tunaomba Baba angeingia because if he was there, we were promised Ksh.6000 a month,” she explained.

“All these things that he (Ruto) promised, the people are now feeling frustrated and that is why you can see that when we call people’s dialogues it is filled up… people are coming because they are desperate and unemployed. A hungry nation is an angry nation.”
