Samsung Electronics (005930.KS) announced on Thursday that it has reached an agreement to acquire Oxford Semantic Technologies, a UK-based startup known for its expertise in advanced artificial intelligence (AI) applications. The deal’s financial details were not disclosed.

Oxford Semantic Technologies specializes in knowledge graph technology, which organizes information into interconnected webs of related concepts, mirroring human reasoning. This technology enhances the personalization capabilities of AI applications, including on-device AI used in Samsung smartphones, according to Samsung’s statement.
