Several schools have directed students and teachers to keep off the learning institutions today following planned anti-government protests.
Circulars directed teachers to conduct online classes.

“Due to planned protests, travel is unsafe. All classes will be conducted online for students’ safety. Look out for the online schedule by this evening. Let us know if you have any questions.”
Others however did not specify whether there will be classes or not. “Good evening parents, learners will remain at home tomorrow (Tuesday) due to the scheduled protests. Please take note,” reads one of the messages.

Some schools noted the move will ensure the safety of students and teachers coming in the wake of violent protests witnessed across major towns.
“Previously we have had challenges dropping learners when demonstrations turned violent. We will resume on Wednesday.”
