Senate Speaker Amason Kingi mourns his father Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa

Senate Speaker Amason Kingi has announced the death of his father, Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa.

Kingi announced the death on Sunday, sharing memories of the good time they had in December 2024.

“Since I attained adulthood, I don’t remember ever dancing with you, Dad. Not until the 25th of December 2024 during Christmas at Mjanaheri village when, for the very first time, we danced, danced and danced together until sunset. Your face beamed with joy.

We were not just celebrating Christmas but giving thanks to the Almighty for your remarkable recovery after years of battling many ailments. I didn’t know that dance would be the first and last with you, Dad,” he wrote on a social media post.

The Speaker hailed his father for the sacrifices he made to make him who he is today.

“You taught me many valuable lessons, the biggest being never to give up no matter what. It is this lesson that has pushed me this far,” he added. In a condolence message to the family, President William Ruto described Mwaruwa as a man who was respected, progressive and hardworking.
