Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja has resigned as Keroche Breweries CEO.

Karanja made the announcement during a presser held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, to mark the company’s 25th year anniversary.

She stated that she was stepping down to serve Nakuru residents and fully focus on her duties as the Deputy Leader of the Majority in the Senate.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) leader subsequently announced that the company’s Chief Financial Officer Potas Anaya would take over as the new CEO.

“I am now ready to wholeheartedly dedicate myself to the honour of serving as the Senator of Nakuru County and as the Deputy Leader of the Majority in the Senate, representing our remarkable nation.

“With immense pride, I hereby announce my decision to step down as the CEO of Keroche Breweries, entrusting the leadership to a deserving successor,” she stated.

Adding: “I also believe I leave an organisation well-positioned to meet the opportunities and challenges of being a national and international leader in the Kenyan and African beverages industry,” she said.

Karanja’s resignation comes amidst a tax dispute between the Naivasha-based brewery and the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
