Police officers in Ruai, Nairobi County are probing an incident where rogue police officers raided a woman’s house in demand of Ksh.20 million allegedly stolen from a Kenyan Senator

A police report indicated that Trizar Theo Wariong’s house was raided by five police officers on Saturday night demanding the cash that allegedly belongs to Turkana Senator James Lomenen, her estranged husband.

“Upon gaining entry into the house the first three officers from Njathaini police station went straight into her bedroom and took USD 15,000 (Ksh.1.9M) and Ksh.200,000 which was inside a suite case and left,” read the report in part.

Trizar further alleged that she was then whisked from her house and bundled into a waiting saloon car and drove off.

Two officers from Kamulu Police Station are said to have alighted the car upon arriving Kamulu shopping centre and two other persons, male and female, entered the car.

Trizar thought she was being taken to a police station but she reported that they kept on driving while she was being forced to reveal the whereabouts of the remaining amount.

“Later on they returned her to her house in the wee hours of the morning after torture and life threats,” added the police report.

Officers who visited the premise established that two officers namely Kevin Ombajo and David Aduda from Njathaini police station were part of the mission.

A probe to identify the other persons is underway.
