Acting Social Health Authority (SHA) CEO Elijah Wachira has outlined six bank accounts for the remittance of deductions from salaried employees’ contributions. In a notice issued on Monday, October 14, 2024, Wachira directed employers to remit these deductions by the 9th of every month to the following accounts:

1. KCB Bank Capitol Hill Branch – Account number: 1329035704
2. Sidian Bank Kilimani Branch – Account number: 01036020040330
3. Cooperative Bank Upper Hill Branch – Account number: 01101176474001
4. Equity Bank Community Branch – Account number: 0170285746991
5. Absa Bank Absa Towers Branch – Account number: 2052202135
6. Diamond Trust Bank Capital Centre Branch – Account number: 0298631001

All accounts are registered under the name Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF).

As per Regulation 17(1) of the Social Health Insurance general regulations, salaried households must contribute 2.75% of their gross salary or wage to the SHIF, with deductions to be submitted by the 9th of every month.

Wachira also highlighted penalties for non-compliance. Section 48(1) of the SHI Act outlines offenses for failing to make timely contributions, unauthorized deductions, or submitting false information. Employers who fail to remit contributions or make false representations may face legal consequences.
