Shabiki.com made a significant impact in Tiaty Constituency, Baringo County, by donating 10,000-litre water tanks to various schools in the region.

The event, held at Kolowa Secondary School, marked the second phase of the Shabiki.com Na Jamii initiative, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program dedicated to improving the lives of communities across Kenya.

The initiative’s first successful phase took place in Nandi County, where 13 schools benefited from similar donations.

Following the positive feedback and visible impact of the project, Shabiki.com decided to extend its reach to Baringo County, an area often plagued by water scarcity.

The choice of Baringo County was strategic, given the region’s arid conditions and the significant struggles faced by schools in accessing clean water.

During the event, Fred Afune, Shabiki.com’s representative, expressed the organization’s dedication to community empowerment. “Access to clean water is crucial for both health and education, yet many schools in arid regions like this face constant shortages.

This lack of water disrupts learning and affects students’ well-being. By providing these tanks, we ensure that students can focus on their studies without this added challenge,” he stated.

The impact of this initiative cannot be understated. For many of the schools in Tiaty Constituency, water shortages have been a persistent challenge, leading to poor hygiene, interrupted learning, and increased absenteeism.

Teachers and students alike celebrated the donations, acknowledging the positive shift the tanks will bring.

One of the headteachers present shared, “Our students often miss classes searching for water. These tanks will save time, improve hygiene, and create a better learning environment.”

The success of the Shabiki.com Na Jamii initiative is not just in the tangible provision of water tanks but also in the hope and inspiration it instills.

The students now have more time to focus on their studies, and the schools can implement better sanitation practices.

This initiative reinforces the idea that businesses like Shabiki.com can have a meaningful and lasting impact on communities.

Shabiki.com remains committed to its vision of expanding the initiative nationwide, ensuring that no child is held back from pursuing their education due to a lack of basic necessities like clean water.

As the initiative grows, it continues to create a ripple effect, influencing lives positively and fostering a sense of community empowerment.
