Western Region representative Shanderema High School earned their ticket to the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports games in Huye, Rwanda with a commanding 5-1 victory over Agoro Sare at Bukhungu Stadium.
This marked a triumphant comeback after both teams suffered losses in their respective semi-final clashes on Friday.

Agoro Sare faced a challenging Friday, battling through extra time and penalties after a 1-1 draw against Dagoreti. Unfortunately, their efforts were thwarted, and they were eliminated with a 3-0 loss in the penalty shootout.
Shanderema, on the other hand, experienced a heart-wrenching 1-0 defeat against St Antony Kitale, spurring them to seize victory in the playoff match.
From the opening whistle, Shanderema dominated proceedings, exploiting Agoro Sare’s vulnerabilities and capitalizing on their mistakes.
In the 20th minute, Collins Kati showcased his skills, weaving past the Agoro left-back before delivering a deflected cross-cum-shot that found the back of the net, granting Shanderema the early lead.
The 30th minute saw Agoro Sare trailing by two goals, as Shanderema orchestrated a well-constructed play that culminated in a powerful shot finding its mark near the keeper’s post.
Kati continued his remarkable performance, securing his second goal just before halftime by swiftly netting a shot, extending Shanderema’s lead to 3-0 within the first 40 minutes.
Agoro Sare managed to pull one back just before halftime, capitalizing on a well-executed set piece to reduce the deficit.

However, their hopes of a comeback were short-lived as Shanderema’s relentless attacking play led to a penalty opportunity. Although the penalty was unsuccessful, Shanderema’s determination remained unwavering.
Just minutes later, Kati’s cross found Elly Malala, who headed the ball unmarked into the net, further solidifying Shanderema’s commanding lead at 4-1.
The final blow came from Maxwell Wamalwa, who expertly executed a set-piece strategy, sealing Agoro Sare’s fate and propelling Shanderema to a decisive 5-1 triumph.
