Jade Thirlwall’s recent remarks about Charlie Puth have taken on new significance after actress Bella Thorne publicly accused the singer of dishonesty and inappropriate behavior. Thorne’s explosive comment came Friday in response to a social media post featuring Thirlwall, a member of the British girl group Little Mix, declaring she would never collaborate with Puth.
Under the post, Thorne wrote, “Yeah I mean .. he lied to the entire world about me and started a hate train. All because I wouldn’t …. do the deed with him.” Her direct accusation quickly caught attention, adding context to Thirlwall’s cryptic refusal to work with Puth and suggesting a pattern of alleged misconduct.
While Thirlwall did not elaborate on her own reasons, Thorne appeared to seize the opportunity for solidarity, using the moment to shed light on her experience with the “Attention” singer.
Thorne and Puth were never officially in a relationship, but their brief association in 2016 led to significant controversy. At the time, Puth publicly insinuated that Thorne had cheated on her ex-boyfriend, actor Tyler Posey, based on photographs of the two getting close. Thorne later clarified that the images were misleading and that her relationship with Posey had already ended before the photos with Puth were taken.
Despite her clarification, Thorne faced a wave of online criticism, which she now attributes to Puth’s actions. According to Thorne, Puth had misinterpreted an outdated article and took his frustrations public, igniting a social media backlash against her.
