Solomon Mkubwa, a well-known gospel artist, recently revealed a deeply personal and tragic experience involving the loss of his left arm due to a bewitching orchestrated by his father’s second wife.

Speaking on Radio47 on June 13th, Mkubwa shared the harrowing details of his ordeal.

Originally hailing from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mkubwa moved to Kenya two decades ago to pursue his music career and eventually married a Kenyan woman. However, his journey was marred by adversity.

At the tender age of 12, he fell victim to the witchcraft practiced by his father’s second wife.

“Babangu alikuwa mlevi sana. Huko ulevini akakutana na mama flani akampa ujauzito. Sasa ikabidi amuoe yule mama. Kwa bahati mbaya mimi nilibaki nimetupiwa mshale,” Mkubwa said.

He said that the arm started swelling and upon seeking treatment, doctors could not exactly find what was wrong for 3 years and eventually it had to be amputated due to rot.

Despite the immense challenges Solomon Mkubwa has endured, he maintains a sense of gratitude for the trials he has faced, seeing them as opportunities for personal growth and resilience.

He attributes his song “Nimewasamehe” to the adversities he endured during his formative years, turning his experiences into sources of inspiration and encouragement for others. Through his music, Mkubwa shares his testimony, offering hope and strength to those who may be facing similar struggles.

Solomon is known for hits like ‘Mungu Mwenye Nguvu’, ‘Nimewasamehe’ and ‘Mfalme Wa Amani’, he credits his breakthrough to the late gospel artist Angela Chibalonza, who mentored him and helped him gain exposure.
