Controversial South African pastor Paseka “Mboro” Motsoeneng has sparked widespread reactions after a video of him carrying a large cross on his back while walking through the streets went viral.

The spectacle, reminiscent of biblical imagery, left many Zimbabweans and others on social media in stitches.

Pastor Mboro, currently facing charges of kidnapping, possession of dangerous weapons, and assault, was reportedly on his way to court when the incident occurred. In the video, he can be seen bearing the massive wooden cross, an act seemingly mimicking Jesus carrying His cross before the crucifixion.

His actions drew considerable attention from onlookers, with spectators gathering to watch the unusual procession.

Speaking to TimesLive, Pastor Mboro explained the spiritual symbolism behind his gesture, stating that the cross represented redemption and resilience in the face of life’s challenges.

“We were far away from God, but He brought us closer through the blood of Jesus, through the cross. All injustices, all diseases were on Him on the cross,” he said.

The pastor also touched on a recent personal ordeal involving his son, Revival, who he claims was attacked by 11 individuals. According to him, the suspects have since been arrested and are set to face charges of common assault and intimidation.

“The people who broke my cars are now coming out, assaulting my son, smashing his face, leaving bruises. There was no justice for more than a 100 days but God showed up,” Pastor Mboro said.

He expressed confidence in overcoming his challenges, saying, “Today it’s just the beginning, I will conquer through the cross. Even if I face this war alone against ten, a hundred, or a million people, I will conquer it.”
